Swim Team Bullying Policy

Springfield Country Club Pool

Bullying (verb)-
Use superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants.

Effective immediately, the SCC Swim Team is issuing a bullying policy for our swimmers.

If any bullying is seen or heard by any of our coaches and/or board members, the consequences are as follows:

  1. Verbal Warning - You will be confronted by either a coach and/or board member and kindly asked to apologize and to no longer bully that individual or individuals.
  2. Written Notice - SCC will promptly notify the parent/guardian of the situation.
  3. Suspension - If bullying continues to be reported after a verbal warning and written notice, you will be suspended from at least 2 practices and 1 meet.
  4. Asked to leave - If at this point (after verbal warning, written notice and suspension) the bullying continues, you will be asked to leave the swim team and not attend anymore meets and practices. Your team payment will not be refunded.

As you know we want every swimmer to have a fun, caring, and nurturing experience on our swim team. We would never want any child to feel intimidated, or underappreciated by another team member.  Parents are reminded to discuss the consequences of bullying with their children.

If you have any questions or know of any bullying on our team, please contact the Coaches and/or The SCC Swim Team Board at:  swimteamscc@gmail.com
